One bite of the Black Cherry Pork Chops is all I needed to understand why the dish is the toast of the town. Harkening back to the mining days, the Snake River Saloon is a cozy restaurant in the heart of town and the Pork Chops have been their signature entree since the 70's. Two mouth watering chops are char-broiled and paired with a healthy serving of the Snake's delectable black cherry sauce for dipping. It's not just about the chops at Snake River as the menu features five steaks from T-Bone to Filet, the best prime rib I've had in years, Baby Back ribs, Teriyaki Chicken and several fresh fish entrees (mmm... Colorado Trout!).
Food aside, The Snake River Saloon should be top on your Keystone "To Do" list because of the authentic ski town atmosphere. Wood paneled walls and dim lighting make the formal dining room the perfect place to warm up and enjoy homemade soups after a day of skiing
